The First Dinosaur Fossil Site in 1915 at Rongxian County

This site is the first discovery of dinosaur fossils found in 1915 by American geologist Dr. George D. Louderback. According to descriptions in the Geological Review by Prof. Young Zhongjian (C. C. Young), the fossils occur in brown sandstone, including part of a femur (thighbone), an imcomplete tooth and some broken bones. The unearthed fossil was brought back to the U.S. by Louderback, and was recognized by an American palaeontologist Prof. Charles L. Camp as a gaint carnosaur in 1935.
