Welcome to
Shenhai Well is located in Da’an District of Zigong and covers an area of 1500 m2. It is the first hand drilled well with a depth of over 1000 m in the world, and also the best-protected well-salt production site of the Qing Dynasty. The major structure of the well contains mills, crane rooms and kitchens. Mill frames, derricks (crown blocks) and cranes are the main production tools at the well. This well, which was drilled using the most advanced drilling techniques invented by ancient Chinese people, is a milestone in the history of world science and technology.
