Jicheng Well, located in Shangfengling, Yangjiachong, Da’an District, Zigong City, is a densest place of salt wells and wooden derricks within an area of 16,667 square meters. It is a production site in the late Qing Dynasty and contains four salt wells i.e. Jicheng Well, Yucheng Well, Yisheng Well, and Tiancheng Well, and four wooden derricks and subsidiary production facilities. These wells had continuously produced brine and natural gas for more than 100 years. This site is a rare “living fossil” for the study of Zigong social and economic development in the Qing Dynasty.
