It collects, researches and displays the exquisite percussion drilling technology for salt well of ancient Chinese, the process of brine extraction, salt production and natural gas extraction process with a history of over 2000 years. The building, located at Xiqin Guild Hall built by west Shaanxi salt merchants, is a national key cultural relics protection unit. Its construction started in 1736 A.D. (the 1st year of Qianlong Emperor’s reign in the Qing Dynasty) and finished in 1752 A.D. It covers an area of 6,000 square meters. It has an exquisite design that combines the architectural style of palace with residential houses. Being a wonder of Chinese architecture, the well-preserved guildhall has witnessed the prosperous salt industry in Zigong in those days.
